Laerskool Vredenburg is ‘n plattelandse skool geleë 120km noord van Kaapstad langs die Weskus. ‘n Plattelandse skool met ‘n unieke karakter en ongelooflike baie geleenthede.

Vredenburg Primary was founded in 1880 to serve the local farming community. In 1923 a new school, Vredenburg High School (including all grades) was built. In 1971 the primary and secondary sections were separated and the High School took up residence in a new complex next to the old school. The Primary School is still situated in the original building.

Die huidige Laerskool Vredenburg bestaan uit meer as ‘n 1000 leerders. Ons is die enigste parallelmedium skool in Vredenburg waar Engels en Afrikaanse klasse afsonderlik aangebied word. Ons het dus leerders van omliggende dorpe omdat ons hul in Engels kan akkommodeer.

On the sports field we regularly achieve success well beyond any expectations. We try our best to make the proper facilities available on and off the field so that everyone can develop into well-rounded individuals. We offer as sporting codes: athletics, netball, rugby, hockey, swimming, cricket and tennis. Regardless of the fact that resources are sometimes limited, we still have a highly motivated team of teachers who give coaching of the highest standard. Each year we have several learners in various regional and provincial teams.

Kultuur word nie agterweë gelaat nie en ‘n groot verskeidenheid aktiwiteite word by die skool aangebied: kore, landsdiens, kunsklub, eisteddfod, VCSV en musiek. Ook op kultuurvlak behaal die skool ongelooflike prestasies.
